William S ADAMS, 79, of Shelby-Ganges Road died suddenly Thursday evening, 11 Dec 1997 at MedCentral/Shelby Hospital. Born 31 Aug 1918, in Cass Township, Richland County to John H & Fern (Wilford) ADAMS, he had been a lifelong Shelby area resident. A 1935 graduate of Shiloh High School, he was employed as an auto mechanic with Barker's Chevrolet and was the automotive instructor at Pioneer Joint Vocational School from 1968 until his retirement in 1981. Mr ADAMS attended the Ganges Community Church. Survivors include his wife, Novelda E (RHODES) ADAMS, whom he wed 5 Jun 1938; one son and daughter-in-law, W Terry & Lenora M ADAMS of Bellevue; two grandchildren, David C ADAMS, of Wichita, KS, and Caren G SPEARS of London, OH; two great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth L & Joyce ADAMS of Shelby; nieces, nephews and other relatives. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, George C ADAMS. Funeral services will be held 10:30 am Monday from the Barkdull Funeral Home. Rev Joe F Kunz will officiate with interment in Mt Hope Cemetery, Shiloh. Friends may call at the funeral Sunday from 2-6 pm. Memorial expressions may be made to the Ganges Community Church.
